Heroism, solidarity, inclusion, promotion of culture and legality, of health and childhood rights. There is all this in the 33 honors of Merit of the Italian Republic that President Sergio Mattarella will confer on November 29 to citizens who have distinguished themselves for their “civil example”. Twenty women and thirteen men will bring their life stories and their selfless commitment to the Quirinale, from the CRI driver who saved a group of boys from a burning bus to the former soccer goalkeeper Astutillo Malgioglio, engaged in projects for children sufferers of dystrophy. Virtuous behavior that has no age, as evidenced by the award to Andrea Mucci, 23, engaged in raising awareness on the issue of architectural barriers, and to 92-year-old Enrico Capo, a life at the service of young people in difficulty. And they have no borders, from North to South up to Sierra Leone, where Maria Teresa Mella founded a school. A solidarity that does not stop at altruism – underlined Mattarella in the past -, but makes it concrete to feel part of a community. –
