From train to scooter, the new frontier of mobility

by admin

ROME – Get off the train and get on the scooter. This is the project that Urbi (a leading startup in multimodal services belonging to the Telepass Group) and Dott (European startup active in the sector of urban micro-mobility in sharing) have set themselves.

How will it work? Anyone who purchases a Trenitalia ticket through the Urbi app will receive a free voucher valid to rent a Dott. E scooter. Therefore, they will get off the train and instead of queuing to take a taxi or rent a car, they can get on the first scooter in disposition and run away free and happy. A simple and ingenious idea, perfect for stimulating the restart of business trips and tourist trips in the post-covid era.

The Urbi platform integrates urban shared mobility services (micro-mobility, car-sharing and taxi) with medium-long distance solutions (trains and airport shuttles) in a single app to meet the different mobility needs of users. For its part, the fleet of Dott scooters offers characteristics of solidity, reliability and sturdiness, as well as being present in various Italian cities.

“We believe that the partnership with Urbi is strategic to launch a multimodality project capable of combining the first and last mile to interurban journeys”, explains Andrea Giaretta, Country General Manager of Dott Italia. “If it is true that no journey begins and ends at the station – concludes the founder of Urbi Emiliano Saurin -” thanks to the partnership with Dott we give our users the opportunity to better enjoy the first and last mile of their journey “.
