Hamilton celebrates the Matrix, limited edition for the fourth chapter

by admin

Just over two weeks to go until January 1st, the day of the expected return to Italian screens of one of the most influential sagas in the history of cinema, Matrix, with the new chapter Matrix Resurrection, directed by Lana Wachowski. Once again the protagonist will be Neo, played by Keanu Reeves, accompanied by Trinity (Carrie-Ann Moss), Morpheus, whose face today is that of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who replaced Laurence Fishburne, and by new characters.

Science fiction and special effects

Science fiction film released in 1999, the first Matrix (there were then two other sequels Matrix Realoaded e Matrix Revolution both released in 2003) had an incredible impact. On the one hand on a cultural level, introducing themes in which the digital dominates the life of human beings by creating a fictitious reality (unforgettable the question “red pill or blue pill?” Asked to Neo to bring him to see the true reality). Then there is the technical impact, with the introduction of special effects never seen before (the iconic bullet time brought to the maximum of the visual experience, thanks to the use of the most modern technologies) so as to win 4 Oscars and gross over 460 million dollars.

The Swatch group and cinema

To celebrate this great return, the Hamilton watch brand, in the portfolio of brands owned by the Swatch Group, which has a long history of collaboration with the seventh art witnessed by appearances in over 500 films, today presents a new special series of the PSR model, that in 2020 had relaunched the legendary Pulsar: 50 years ago this was the first electronic wristwatch with digital time reading in history.

The latest version, PSR MTX, is limited to 1999 copies (the year of release of the first Matrix) and mounts the case with the characteristic cushion shape (40.8 x 34.7 mm), water resistant to 100 meters. The case, like the bracelet, is in blackened PVD steel. The display is a hybrid Lcd and Oled green, a color chosen not by chance, because it refers to the digital rain (whose motif is made on the back) unforgettable for anyone who has seen the films of the saga. Contrary to what it might appear to be seeing the Matrix, the PST MTX actually exists and is on sale from December 1st at 975 euros.
