“I am happy and it was one of the greatest joys of my life,” said Roberto Aguerre, the fisherman from Cutral Co who managed to catch in the Aluminé Lake, in Villa Pehuenia. The Cutralquense who throughout his life dedicated himself to traveling through the different water courses of the province and other parts of the country in the search for increasingly larger specimens, had its surprise. After 40 minutes of fighting, he pulled a female brown trout weighing almost 10 kilos out of the water.
Roberto gets excited when he talks about fishing. Dedicated to fly cast for four decades, he always knew that at any moment he could have a surprise. But this time, the astonishment was enormous when she felt that she had stung.
«It was Saturday the 2nd, in the afternoon, the sun was already setting and the truth It was one of the greatest joys of my life because although I had caught large trout, but it seemed very strange to me, I had no reference, it is the first like this, said by the Tourism people, that comes out in this lake,” he said. a little more relaxed.
Roberto explained that he was with his partner, Susana Muñoz, who “was the one who suffered the most because he saw her jump and got scared, she screamed for her not to leave.” It was precisely Susana who was in charge of taking the time – approximately 42 minutes – that it took for Roberto to be able to remove the specimen from the water and have the photographic record.

Beyond having caught it, it was difficult to get it out and Roberto attributes that possibility to a good dose of “luck and fortune” because in those moments, “the one that is in control and manages the situation is the trout.” Fighting for more than half an hour to get her out of the water allowed him to know that she measured almost eighty centimeters in circumference.
The Cutralquense fisherman said that “I’m not going to say what I caught it with because it’s the fisherman’s secret.” although he wished all those who go to the place “the best of luck.”
He reported that the female trout, weighing almost 10 kilos, was a specimen that “ate at shallow depths because of its silvery pigmentation. “These are characteristics that a trout presents when it receives sunlight and is not so deep.”
Those at great depth are more lethargic and dark because they do not receive sunlight, he added.
Since his experience came to light, there were hundreds of calls he received, basically to ask him where he had been able to capture him. After this experience, Aguerre can close the fishing season for this part of the year, with one of the best catches she has obtained so far.
