A 55-year-old man was hospitalized this Tuesday after suffering serious injuries when he hung from his truck and was dragged to try to prevent it from being stolen in the Mendoza department of Guaymallén, police sources reported.
The incident occurred around noon at the intersection of Gomensoro and Sarmiento streets, according to police sources.
According to witnesses, the victim arrived there in his white Toyota Hilux truck, left it on and went to a kiosk.
When he returned to the truck, he was surprised by two criminals who were traveling in another vehicle.
There there was a struggle between one of the thieves and the owner of the truck and, when he began to escape, the victim grabbed onto the vehicle and was dragged for a few meters until, apparently hit by the criminals, he fell and was left lying on the ground. the street.
The presence of an ambulance from the Coordinated Emergency Service was then requested, who transferred the victim to the Central Hospital of the city of Mendoza, where the doctor on duty diagnosed him with “trauma AND severe ECT in a state of unconsciousness.”
Sources from that hospital detailed that he was admitted to intensive care and with a reserved prognosis.

Shortly after, the stolen truck was found abandoned on Carlos Pellegrini and Fray Justo Santa María de Oro streets, in the aforementioned district.
