After the discovery of the bodies of the two brothers in their home in the city of Alta Gracia, Prosecutor’s Office No. 2, headed by Alejandro Peralta Ottonello, continues with the investigation of the complex case.

Judicial sources indicated that the first analyzes did not find signs of violence on the bodies. The state in which they were found has not allowed it to be determined, as it turned out.

The work of a committee made up of experts from different medical and forensic areas, including pediatricians, has been arranged. That study will take time. Its result, it is hoped, will shed light on a case that started out very complex and that everything indicates will continue to be so.

Hence, at the same time, other investigations, studies and testimony taking have been arranged.

Maricel Pedernera, mother of the boys, remains housed in the Neuropsychiatric Hospital of Córdoba in the Juniors neighborhood. She is charged with double homicide aggravated by the bond. She is in special custody. There is no inquest date yet and there will not be one in the short term.

Psychiatric and psychological expert reports have been ordered to determine whether the woman understood the criminality of the events and whether she is attributable or not.

The adolescents, ages 15 and 17, lived with the woman in the Villa Camiares neighborhood of Alta Gracia. According to reports, they suffered from different neurological and physical problems and were electrodependent.

Everything was discovered last Monday at noon when police arrived at the home after a person alerted him. It is suspected that he could have been the father of the boys, since he had not seen them for a long time.

In the humble home, the police found two packages on an armchair under some plastic bags. The bodies were in an advanced state and there were oxygen tubes nearby.

According to reports, the woman was praying and had indicated that her children “were asleep.”

Pedernera was detained that day.

She was described by neighbors as lonely, very “devoted” to her children and “very religious.”

On the door of his home the name “Jeshua” is read, in reference to Jesus. In the living room of the hearth, an atrium and a cross were found. The teenagers’ names were written on a wall.

Experts from the Judicial Police worked on orders from the prosecutor’s office. Since then, police and judicial investigations have been carried out under directives from the prosecutor’s office. “Although we need the autopsy protocol, which has not yet been carried out, there are no episodes of violence against the boys,” judicial sources indicated.

According to neighbors, the father had separated a year ago and could not see the teenagers. Regarding a possible accusation against the man, judicial sources ruled it out “for the moment”, since the incident is directed towards the actions of the mother. “At the moment, that would not arise, since the boys lived with their mother,” those responsible for the investigation stated.

La Voz consulted with authorities from the Health and Development area of ​​the Municipality of Alta Gracia about whether the family received assistance of any kind.

Municipal sources indicated that they do not have records of the family, at least in the last year. There is also no data to show that they received food modules. Regarding the Family Area, they did not have any contact with either the father or the mother due to violence.

A relevant piece of information specified is that the adolescents lacked the Official Medical Certificate that would allow them to receive a disability pension. “This procedure is carried out in the Municipality and then it is certified and approved in Buenos Aires and they were not registered,” indicated spokespersons for the commune.
