Maricel Pedernera, mother of the boys, remains housed in the Neuropsychiatric Hospital of Córdoba in the Juniors neighborhood. She is charged with double homicide aggravated by the bond. She is in special custody. There is no inquest date yet and there will not be one in the short term.

Psychiatric and psychological expert reports have been ordered to determine whether the woman understood the criminality of the events and whether she is attributable or not.

The adolescents, ages 15 and 17, lived with the woman in the Villa Camiares neighborhood of Alta Gracia. According to reports, they suffered from different neurological and physical problems and were electrodependent.

According to neighbors, the father had separated a year ago and could not see the teenagers. Regarding a possible accusation against the man, judicial sources ruled it out “for the moment”, since the incident is directed towards the actions of the mother. “At the moment, that would not arise, since the boys lived with their mother,” those responsible for the investigation stated.
