According to a report by Jinyang.com, the friends, hailing from countries including China, Italy, and more, were drawn to Guangzhou to witness the unique performance of “Marco Polo.” Speaking exclusively to Southern Network, Italian Entrepreneur Bart expressed how the opera has helped more people understand Italy and fostered closer business cooperation between Italy and China over the past two decades.

Li Jiahao, founder and chairman of the Italian Yalenger Culture and Art Foundation, highlighted the significance of the ancient Silk Road in promoting cultural exchange between China and Italy. He emphasized that the “One Belt, One Road” initiative has further expanded cooperation in various fields, showcasing the evolution of the historic trade route.

The original opera “Marco Polo” was recently staged in Guangzhou, with the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government supporting and promoting the cultural event. The production was hailed as a historic innovation in Chinese opera, blending traditional elements with the tale of the famed explorer from Italy.
