We have already talked about the latin sail in Stintino and his regatta of the President of the Republic. As well as the tradition linked to these boats that is disappearing and the idea of ​​an ecomuseum that had to arise, also to preserve the latter, in the same locality, by the AVeLa Association, read Latin sail, led by Piero Ajello. Now, the idea has blossomed, because EMAcq was born in Sassari – the Ecomuseo del Mare e dell’Acqua, in the rooms of the former aqueduct, a Liberty building with green-colored facades overlooking Viale Adua.

The idea of ​​the association and of the Municipality is to animate, here, a center of cultural, educational, informative activities on the history and culture of the sea and water, which also hosts a “Blue Library”, dedicated to the sea and inland waters. The opening has already taken place, in an smerimental way, and now the Ecomuseum restarts with a first program of meetings, called the “Wind of EMA events”.

The calendar, after the conference “Lesvos, the suspended island” by Oreste Molino, sees on March 18 at 7 pm the story of Giusi Canestrelli, who recently returned from Antarctica after a whole year spent as a doctor at the research base. most isolated science on the continent. On March 25, the same time will follow “Si bidi Barberia”, an excursus by Piero Ajello on three centuries of barbarian incursions in Sardinia. On May 13, however, it will be the turn of the thirtieth anniversary of the Gran Regata Colon, the great crossing on the route of Christopher Columbus in 1992 in which the Latin sailing ship San Giuseppe Due of the Antarctic explorer Giovanni Ajmone Cat took part: theme of the conference of Piero Ajello and Giancarlo Antonetti a reportage from aboard this famous boat.

Concerts, films, storytelling shows, food and wine evenings and new conferences are scheduled for the rest of the Spring. The program will continue in the autumn until Christmas. Guided tours of the ancient aqueduct and sea collections are also organized (www.ecomuseomareacqua.it).
