Israel reopens key Gaza aid crossing closed after weekend attack

JERUSALEM (AP) — The Israeli army announced Wednesday the reopening of the Kerem Shalom crossing with Gaza, a key point for the entry of humanitarian aid to the besieged Palestinian enclave.

The crossing was closed on Sunday after a deadly Hamas rocket attack killed four Israeli soldiers nearby.

In the early hours of Tuesday, an Israeli tank brigade took control of the nearby Rafah crossing, in the south of the Strip, which remains closed.
