Kate Winslet’s sex scenes in the new HBO series The Regime, with Matthias Schoenaerts, were hilarious to shoot. The actress herself said this in an interview.
In The Regime, Kate Winslet plays the dictator of a fictional European country, who falls in love with her bodyguard Zubak, played by Matthias Schoenaerts. “During the shooting of episode five,” Winslet revealed during an interview, “Elena (her character, ed.) and Zubak have sex. At that moment she shouts at him: don’t bite, don’t bite!”
It all turned out very funny, she continues. “We even had to send two crew members out because they wouldn’t stop laughing. One of them was Alwin Kuchler, our cinematographer, and the other was someone who did the actors’ hair and makeup.”
However, that turned out to be a problem. “Because Matthias had all kinds of tattoos, and because of all the sweat and friction they stained me. It looked like the newspaper was printed on me,” Winslet said.
