‘American Idol’ is a family show, but on Monday night it almost became a program for viewers over 16+. Katy Perry’s (39) top came off halfway through the broadcast, so the singer had to cover herself with a pillow.

While candidate Roman Collins gave his best to the sounds of It’s a man’s man’s man’s world by James Brown, the jury member’s silver top came off. Perry was able to laugh about it herself and shared the fragment on her Instagram. “That song broke my top off,” she joked. “But it has to stay put, otherwise this show will get more than it intended.”

Throughout the broadcast, the cushion Perry was sitting on turned out to be a good solution. Another way to keep it modest was to sink under her desk to hide the mess. As long as you’re creative, right. (ed)
