California: Kevin Costner, the renowned American actor, has been ordered by a California judge to pay $129,755 per month in child support to his ex-wife, model and designer Christine Baumgartner. In addition to the monthly amount, Costner is also required to cover $200,000 in attorneys’ fees and $100,000 in expert costs, as reported by Fox.
Initially, Baumgartner had requested alimony of $248,000 per month from Costner, along with his full responsibility for their children’s health, sports, and extracurricular activity expenses. However, the judge ruled that both parties must shoulder 50% of these payments.
In response, Costner had proposed paying $51,940 per month in child support, significantly less than Baumgartner’s request. The judge ultimately determined the final amount based on various factors, including the children’s needs and the financial circumstances of both individuals.
Costner and Baumgartner tied the knot in September 2004 after which they welcomed three children together: Cayden, Hayes, and Grace. After 18 years of marriage, their relationship came to an end.
Interestingly, last week another judge upheld the terms of the existing prenuptial agreement and ordered Baumgartner to vacate their family property by July 31, which they shared in the Santa Barbara, California area.
For Costner, this was his second marriage, following his 16-year-long union with Cindy Silva, which ended in divorce in 1994. Costner has a total of seven children, including four other grown children from previous relationships, three with Silva and one with Bridget Rooney.
Aside from his personal life, the 68-year-old actor is best known for his iconic roles in movies like “Dancing with Wolves” and “The Bodyguard.” He recently gained critical acclaim for his performance in Paramount’s hit series “Yellowstone.”
