ROME (AP) — Lecce scored two goals in the last three minutes and beat Fiorentina 3-2 in a Serie A match on Friday, condemning the Tuscan team to its sixth straight game without a win and its worst start of one calendar year since 2002.
The Florence squad has not won since December 29 and has earned just one point in its last four league games. It remains in seventh position, although Bologna, Napoli and Torino have a chance of overtaking it if they win this weekend.
With their electrifying comeback, Lecce achieved their first victory since before Christmas. The southern team thus placed itself in 13th place.
Lecce dominated the early stages and took a 1-0 lead after just 17 minutes when Remi Oudin scored from a free kick.
Fiorentina took control in the second half. Rolando Mandragora equalized for the visitors five minutes into the second half, taking advantage of a rebound 30 meters from the goal and finishing with a low shot.
Lucas Beltrán made the score 2-1 thanks to a blunder by the Lecce defense. Goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone did not move the ball away in time, and the ball bounced off Beltrán and into the net.
It was the Argentine’s fifth goal in his last eight games.
Just when Lecce seemed doomed to defeat, Roberto Piccoli scored with a header in the 90th. And in the second minute of stoppage time, Patrick Dorgu caused the crowd to go crazy with the winning goal.
