Marco Luis, born on May 7, 1977 on the Azores island of Terceira, described himself as “Monstro” (German: Monster) and had more than 25,000 followers on Instagram alone. As you can see there, he was able to use his muscles to win medals in bodybuilding competitions. His wife wrote that Marco Luis had died in Cologne. “He was in his personal paradise doing what he loved,” the Facebook post said. She thanked fans for their support but gave no further details about the cause of death. Marco’s body still has to be returned to Portugal.

For example, a friend named Flavio Gouveia writes on Facebook: “I’m at a loss for words, I didn’t want to believe it when I heard the news… we trained together many times, we did great workouts together, you were always a good-natured, “Happy person who fought for his dreams and always thought about helping others, you never gave up on your dreams, training and growing, that was what you loved to do”.
Marco Luis used to be active as a judoka
Marco Luis also had one of his own YouTube-Kanal. A video about his biography can also be seen there. He struggled with physical problems as a child. According to his own statements, he eventually found bodybuilding through the martial art of judo. “I’ve never trained in commercial gyms,” Marco Luis admitted on Instagram. He only took part in his first bodybuilding competition in 2018 at the age of 40 and won it straight away. He also made a name for himself in the scene with training videos and appeared as a motivational coach.
