Facebook’s official name change to “Meta” is definitely one of the most important news last week, but the trademark application after the name change does not seem to be so smooth. In an interview with TMZ, Meta PC founders Joe Darger and Zack Shutt said that although their application has not yet been approved, they are willing to stop their application at a price of $20 million.
Joe Darger and Zack Shutt’s company has been in business for more than a year. As early as August, they applied for the “Meta” trademark for “computers, notebooks, tablets, software and more technology-related projects.” Although the asking price of $20 million seems a bit high, they said that if Mark Zuckerberg is willing to pay, their brand will have to be remodeled, and rebranding will inevitably cost a lot of money.
Mark Zuckerberg has not yet responded to Joe Darger and Zack Shutt’s proposals. Interested readers may wish to continue to pay attention to relevant news.
