Netflix’s New Korean Drama “Cashero” Starts Filming, Starring Lee Junho and Kim Hyejun
Netflix announced today that filming has officially begun for the Korean series “Cashero,” which is adapted from the popular Webtoon comic. The show stars Lee Junho, Kim Hyejun, Kim Byungcheol, and Kim Hyangki, and promises to redefine the superhero genre with a unique twist.
“Cashero” follows the life of protagonist Kang Changxiong, who possesses superpowers that are fueled by the amount of cash he possesses. The show combines elements of heroism with socio-economic challenges, blending fantasy, action, comedy, and superpowers to appeal to a wide audience.
Lee Junho, a member of the popular Korean boy group 2PM, takes on the lead role of Kang Changwoong, a former civil servant whose powers are directly tied to his wealth. Kim Hyejun plays Changwoong’s girlfriend, Kim Minsook, who supports him in using his powers for the greater good.
Kim Byungcheol portrays the role of lawyer Byun Huin, whose powers are activated by alcohol consumption. He recruits Changwoong to join a fight against a mysterious anti-superhero alliance. Kim Hyangki plays Fang Eunwei, whose powers are triggered by the calories she consumes, adding a unique dynamic to the team.
Directed by Lee Changmin and written by Lee Jein and Jeon Chanho, “Cashero” promises to deliver a fresh take on the superhero genre, combining compelling characters with exciting storytelling.
Fans can expect to see the series on Netflix in the near future, as production continues on this highly-anticipated show.
