PALLBEARER release the single “Where The Light Fades” including video. The new album “Mind Burns Alive” will be released on May 17, 2024 via Nuclear Blast Records.
PALLBEARER, the undisputed masters of emotional and stirring heavy music, return with their rawest and most heartfelt album to date: Mind Burns Alive (May 17, Nuclear Blast Records).
„D“These songs are a deeper exploration of dynamics and timbre than anything we’ve done before.”, singer/guitarist Brett Campbell explains the band’s decision to strip everything back on the upcoming, nearly hour-long album. “I believe that true toughness comes from emotional weight, and sometimes pure bludgeoning isn’t the right approach to convey a feeling.
A taste of Mind Burns Alive comes today with the release of ‘Where The Light Fades’ and the video directed by Dan Almasy. Lyrically, the song alludes to the overarching themes of the six-song album, as Campbell describes the tracks as “Vignettes that tell the stories of people struggling with countless illnesses of the mind…illnesses mediated by the world we live in, and the subjects are the symptoms of the illness.”
The album was worked on for five years, recording was originally planned for 2020 and was canceled again in 2022. In 2023, the band members lived together again in Little Rock for the first time in nine years. As a group, they produced the album themselves in their own newly built studio (Idlewild Audio) and at Fellowship Hall Sound. Bassist and vocalist Joseph D. Rowland said: “It’s ironic considering the album is largely about isolation, but it felt like it brought us back together in a city after being apart for so long.”
