Pavese Award: here are the winners of the five sections

Antonella Anedda Angioy (poetry section), Antonio Franchini (fiction), Stefano Mauri (publishing), Tommaso Pincio (translation), Giuseppe Antonelli, Matteo Motolese and Lorenzo Tomasin (non-fiction). They are the winners of the Pavese 2021 Award, promoted and organized by the Cesare Pavese Foundation.
They will receive the recognition and give the acceptance speech on Sunday 7 November on the occasion of the ceremony that will take place at 10 in Santo Stefano Belbo, in the former church of Santi Giacomo and Cristoforo, now the auditorium of the Pavese Foundation. On the occasion, the Pavese Scuole Prize will also be awarded to the three best works among those presented by the students who participated in the call. The previous day, Saturday 6 November, a busy program of events between art, literature and entrepreneurial culture with Fulvio Marino, Giovanni Bonardi, Lorenzo Mondo, Maria Pia Ammirati, Oscar Farinetti and Piercarlo Grimaldi.
New in the 2021 edition of the Prize, the introduction of the section dedicated to poetry, which is added to the other four – publishing, fiction, non-fiction and translation – chosen with the aim of reflecting the multifaceted activity of Cesare Pavese. With the new section he joins the jury of the Carlo Ossola Prize, which joins Alberto Sinigaglia (president of the jury, president of the Scientific Committee of the Cesare Pavese Foundation), Gian Arturo Ferrari (prominent figure in Italian publishing), Giulia Boringhieri (translator, publishing historian, daughter of Paolo Boringhieri who was a friend and colleague of Pavese at Einaudi), Chiara Fenoglio (teacher, essayist, journalist), Claudio Marazzini (president of the Accademia della Crusca), Pierluigi Vaccaneo (director of the Cesare Pavese Foundation).
«The Award, since it has been under the aegis of the Foundation, rewards the most important exponents of the Italian cultural world who best represent the cultural work of Cesare Pavese – says Vaccaneo -. Translations, poetry, fiction, publishing and non-fiction are the different faces in which the intellectual activity of the writer is expressed, a highly innovative author for Italian literature and still today a sure guide for those who want to extricate themselves in their inner labyrinth ».
