Pesaro capital of Culture 2024. The mayor: “We dedicate the victory to Kharkhiv”

Pesaro is the Italian capital of culture 2024. This was announced by the minister of culture, Dario Franceschini, in the ceremony that took place this morning at the Mic headquarters. Pesaro was chosen by the jury, chaired by Silvia Calandrelli, Pesaro has announced the other ten finalist cities: Ascoli Piceno, Chioggia (VE), Grosseto, Mesagne (BR), Pesaro, Sestri Levante with Tigullio (GE), Syracuse, Union of Municipalities Paestum-Alto Cilento (SA), Viareggio (LU) and Vicenza.
The mayor of Pesaro, Matteo Ricci, dedicated the victory to Kharkhiv: «A great emotion. We dedicate this victory to Kharkiv, like us Unesco city of music in Ukraine, currently under bombs ». In his hand, a leaf of ginkgo biloba, “the tree of Peace that survived the atomic bomb in Hiroshima”, colored yellow and blue like the flag of Ukraine
