It was a bridge of the Republic Day kissed by an extraordinary influx of visitors to the Uffizi Galleries. Accomplice on the first Sunday of the month with free access to state museums, recently reactivated by the Ministry of Culture, the museum complex saw the entry, from 2 to 5 June, of 74,147 people. A record figure, with the Gallery of Statues and Paintings leading at 38,182 for the 4 days, followed by the Boboli Gardens at 22,424 and Palazzo Pitti at 13,541. The peak day was June 5, for the free Sunday: 23,225 total visitors to the three places of the museum complex. For the Uffizi Gallery alone, however, the top day was Saturday 4 June with 10,358 admissions.
