CCTV News: The summer movie market has witnessed a new surge in movie-watching frenzy with the release of several popular films. Recent statistics reveal that the total box office for this year’s summer season has surpassed 7.3 billion yuan.

A visit to a movie theater in Beijing’s Haidian district showcased a bustling atmosphere, with the hall adorned with movie posters of various genres.

One audience member shared their experience, saying, “I watched ‘In the Octagonal Cage’ directed by Wang Baoqiang. It was very touching. It allowed my child to experience and appreciate the goodness in life.”

The theater’s management informed reporters that the daily box office records were consistently being broken since the summer season began.

Li Huyu, the person in charge of a theater in Beijing, stated, “The box office data for this year’s summer holiday season has been increasing at a faster rate compared to previous years. Recently, the daily box office of theaters has reached 160,000 yuan.”

According to statistics, the domestic suspense film, “The Missing Girl,” has secured the top spot at the box office with a record-breaking 3.1 billion yuan. Following closely in second place is the domestic feature film, “In the Octagonal Cage,” with a box office of over 1 billion yuan. The foreign film, “Transformers: Rise of Heroes,” secures the third position with a box office collection of 640 million yuan.

The summer movie season has witnessed a remarkable response from audiences, showcasing the power of storytelling on the big screen. With the success of these movies, the Chinese film industry continues to thrive, captivating audiences and breaking box office records.
