The world of acting is in mourning for the unexpected death of Scottish actor Brian McCardie, known for his role in the series Outlander on Netflix. The actor passed away at the age of 59 on Sunday, April 28, as confirmed by his sister Sarah McCradie on Twitter.
In a heartfelt statement, Sarah announced, “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian James McCardie, beloved son, brother, uncle, and dear friend to many. Brian died suddenly at his home on Sunday, April 28. A wonderful and passionate actor on stage and screen, Brian loved his work, impacted many lives, and was gone too soon. We love him and will miss him very much.”
McCardie, known for his piercing blue-eyed gaze, had an impressive career with over 80 credits in film and television, including roles in Outlander, Shameless, Eastenders, and Line of Duty. He was originally from Glasgow and had recently worked on the 10-part series Outlander: Blood of my blood.
His last credit was in the film The Rising of the Sap, which is yet to be released. According to his IMDB page, the actor’s sudden death occurred in his native Scotland. Rest in peace, Brian McCardie.
