Dog Groomer Rescues Neglected 9-Year-Old Dog and Gives Him a New Lease on Life
A 9-year-old dog with charming big eyes has been neglected by his owner for a long time and was found in a severe state of neglect, covered in feces and with severely tangled hair. However, thanks to the efforts of dog groomer Adrijana Farkaš, the pup, now named Max, has undergone a complete transformation and has found a forever home.
Adrijana Farkaš, a 30-year-old professional dog groomer from Novi Sad, Serbia, first learned about the male Maltese Terrier in need of urgent help on August 25, 2023. After posting publicly that she would provide free grooming services to neglected dogs, a source contacted her via Facebook about Max’s dire situation. She was warned to be fully prepared because Max was in a very bad state, having been neglected and isolated in his owner’s yard from childhood without proper care.
Upon receiving this information, Adrijana and her husband wasted no time and found Max and his owner that same day. They were shocked by the heartbreaking condition in which they found Max, but his affectionate eyes seemed to convey that he had been waiting to be rescued.
The Farkas tried to convince Max’s owner to allow them to take him away for a better life, and after offering some money, he agreed. Max was taken to the Farkas’ grooming salon, where they realized that his condition was worse than they had imagined.
His fur was covered in excrement, and the grooming process took a full 9 hours, with several scissors and knives breaking during the trimming due to the thickness and tight tangling of his fur. However, the team completed the daunting task successfully, and Max showed relief and happiness in his gentle eyes after the grooming was finished.
After a health check at the veterinarian, Max found a forever home, where he is finally receiving the love and care he deserves. Adrijana, who often sees Max when he visits the salon for beauty treatments, is overjoyed that he will never be neglected again.
Adrijana and her husband are the owners of the only officially registered dog grooming academy in Serbia and often go to great lengths to rescue dogs in need. They have shared their heartwarming story with tens of thousands of YouTube subscribers, inspiring others to help animals in need.
