After a first taste in the form of ‘High Noon’, US heavy metallers RIOT V are now quenching their fans’ thirst for more before their new studio record ‘Mean Streets’ will be released on April 12, 2024 via Atomic Fire Records. The new one Song is called “Feel The Fire”!
The band also shot a video for the second digital single called ‘Feel The Fire’, which was created in New Jersey with director Tom Flynn (LAMB OF GOD, BUCKCHERRY, among others). The model Liv Walsh shines as a guest.
Bass player Donnie Van Stavern takes a stand:
“When I wrote ‘Feel The Fire’, I wanted to musically recall the early, rocky RIOT times with a certain ZEPPELIN/PRIEST atmosphere. The accompanying lyrics tell of a passionate, aggressive, fiery love affair in which the couple’s souls are extremely obsessed with each other. The video roughly captures its content and plays with fire and blinding light, complemented, of course, by a beautiful woman!”
“Mean Streets” offers twelve tracks that the group recorded together with Bruno Ravel in New Jersey. Ravel was also responsible for mixing them before the mastering skills of Bart Gabriel completed them. The record is adorned by furious artwork by Gyula Havancsák (including ACCEPT, STRATOVARIUS, BRAINSTORM), who has, as usual, skilfully illustrated the direction of the songs – of course without leaving out the band’s typical seal theme.
