The organizational machine of the Popular Theater of Sordevolo, which in fact never stopped, but had to wait for two years, gets back into action in view of the new edition of the «Passion». Scheduled for the summer of 2020, the show was postponed first to 2021 and finally to 2022: it will therefore be staged with 34 performances from 18 June to 25 September.
While the pre-sale of tickets continues, reopened in recent weeks, and awaiting the official presentation, scheduled at the end of the month at the Civic Library of Biella, today in Sordevolo the first of three special events is scheduled that combine culture, tradition, curiosity and local flavors. The next will be in April and May. The appointment is at 10 with a guided tour of the Museum of the Passion which, set up in the church of Santa Marta and recently renovated, tells the long tradition of this popular show, which for over two centuries has brought together the entire community of Sordevolo, through photographs, documents, costumes and curiosities.
Afterwards it will also be possible to visit the Vercellone Wool Mill Archive which, in the rooms of the Palazzo Comunale, documents the history of one of the most important textile factories in the Biella area, active from the beginning of the 18th century to the end of the 19th.
Moving then to the Amphitheater you will be able to see the actors engaged in a rehearsal session and admire a glimpse of the scenography that is currently being completed.
At the end of the itinerary, an aperitif prepared by MeBo (Birra Menabrea and Formaggi Botalla) is expected as one of the main sponsors of the 2022 edition with Lauretana, Lanificio di Sordevolo and Ronchetta construction company.
