The 13th Beijing International Online Film Exhibition Venture Capital Conference took place in Beijing on January 15, 2024. The event featured a prestigious lineup of industry veterans, venture capital guests, and cultural companies.

Hou Keming, director of the China Film Association, and Xiang Xiang, former editor-in-chief of the Literature and Art Department of the People’s Daily, were among the esteemed figures in attendance at the conference. Various film projects and short dramas were presented by their creative teams for road shows, with the judges providing feedback on their potential investment value based on themes, story content, creative team, market expectations, and investment return.

Dr. Lin Feng, Chairman of Beijing Greenway Cultural Tourism Holding Group, shared insights on how tourism micro-short dramas can drive traffic in scenic spots and create new business opportunities. Additionally, the conference hosted the launching ceremony of the Guangxi Practice Camp for the Chinese Dream Micro Short Drama in collaboration with Guangxi Performing Arts Vocational College and Beijing Kangying Culture Media Co., Ltd.

The founder and executive chairman of the Beijing International Online Film Festival, Wang Zhengdong, initiated discussions on the rise of micro-short dramas and investment opportunities alongside industry professionals such as Li Lixin, Wang Hailin, Zhang Tao, Zhang Rui, and Wu Hang.

The Lightyear Venture Capital Conference has become a significant platform for the online film and television industry, bringing together investment institutions, emerging talents, and practitioners in the field. Over the past decade, the conference has facilitated over 1,200 investment collaborations, showcased more than 100 road show projects, and successfully implemented over 30 projects.

As part of the conference, the organizing committee launched the first Future Director Project, aiming to provide a platform for young directors to learn and grow while focusing on the future of film technology, forms, and expressions.
