The Central Meteorological Observatory has issued the first cold wave warning for 2024, with the 0℃ line expected to reach Guangxi and Guangdong. According to the China Weather Network, the cold wave is expected to affect several regions of the country, with temperatures dropping by 8 to 12°C in certain areas. In some places, the temperature could drop by as much as 14 to 16 degrees Celsius, and in some places it could exceed 18 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature line of 0°C is expected to press southward to northern Guangxi and northern Guangdong by January 23.
As a result, the government and relevant departments have been advised to make preparations for the cold waves, and individuals are encouraged to add clothes to keep warm, take protective measures for tropical crops and aquatic products, and prepare for wind protection.
