Polestar, known for its high-performance electric vehicles, has stepped out of the automotive field and created a miniature tree house project “KOJA”. KOJA was designed by Finnish designer Kristian Talvitie, winner of the 2021 Polestar Design Contest Honorable Mention, and is now on display in the village of Fiskars in southwestern Finland.

The KOJA treehouse project aims to redefine sustainable travel, a space that connects to the trunk without harming the tree and features panoramic glass surfaces that immerse travelers in their natural environment. The building is constructed with sustainable and durable materials, and locally sourced wood and wool help KOJA blend in with its surroundings. Polestar design director said KOJA translates brand values to different environments, while designer Kristian Talvitie said: “Most designers look at design from the user’s point of view, I also look at things from the environment’s point of view. There should be a relationship between design and meeting place. There is a symbiotic relationship.”

KOJA will be on display until September as part of the Fiskars Village Art & Design Biennale’s “House by an Architect” exhibition, so interested readers may wish to keep an eye out for related news.
