ROME – 55 years after the first appearance “in uniform”, the Alpine A110 returns to take on the role of the French National Gendarmerie. The first generation of the berlinetta was in fact one of the first vehicles of the transalpine emergency brigade and today, following a tender announced by the French Ministry of the Interior, the Renault group, with the Alpine A110 model, was awarded the contract for the supply of 26 vehicles for the next 4 years (deliveries will start at the beginning of 2022).

The compact sports cars of the Dieppe company, equipped with the generous 252 Hp engine, will be used by the emergency response teams of the National Gendarmerie for interventions on the motorway, to intercept cars that have broken the speed limits, and also for missions. road safety and judicial police. In particular, two units of the Alpine A110 supply will be dedicated to the field training of emergency response agents.

The new contract contributes to the modernization and rejuvenation of the police car fleet, a process launched by the French Interior Department for a couple of years. The Alpine A110s, once they leave the production plant in Dieppe, are set up ad hoc by the Durisotti company, at its headquarters in Sallaumines and in addition to the standard equipment, the 26 cars will be equipped with specific equipment such as screen printing, reflective stickers, flashing lights, buzzer, variable message panel.

That of the Renault group with the supply of cars to the emergency response brigade is a long-standing relationship, which began with the Alpine A110 in 1966 and continued with the A130, Renault 18 Turbo, 21 2L Turbo, Mégane Ide, Mégane III RS and now with the new alpine A110 which will continue until 2025.
