The once shining marriage of Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist from the reality show “The Golden Bachelor” has come to a dim end. Just three months after their televised wedding, the couple has announced plans to divorce.
Appearing on “Good Morning America” on Friday, Turner and Nist shared that they have had honest discussions about their marriage and have decided that it is time to go their separate ways.
“We have taken a long, hard look at our situation, our way of living, and so on, and we have come to the mutual conclusion that it is probably time to dissolve our marriage,” Turner explained.
Nist added, “We’ve received a lot of love and support from a lot of people who have watched ‘The Golden Bachelor,’ and I don’t think we can tell you how many people have told us that it has given them a lot of hope. We don’t want any of that to change for anyone.”
“The Golden Bachelor” showcased Turner, 72, in his search for love following the passing of his wife Toni. The couple’s wedding was aired on the show with host Jesse Palmer officiating the ceremony.
As the sun sets on their marriage, Turner and Nist expressed gratitude for the support they have received and hope that their decision will not overshadow the positive messages of love and hope that the show has inspired in its viewers.
