The Italian Naval League – founded in 1897 – is organizing its first national open day, scheduled from Friday 29 April to Sunday 1 May 2022. The initiative ” Spend the weekend with us, in the Italian Naval League ” aims to to make known the association and the activities it carries out in the territories where its offices are present, presenting to visitors the various social initiatives promoted by the Sections, in areas of interest such as maritime culture and training, nautical sports, solidarity boating and the protection of the marine environment.
The goal of the “ weekend in LNI ” is to bring institutions, associations, organizations, schools and the whole population, especially the youth, closer to the spirit of the Italian Naval League and to the knowledge of the mission it has pursued since 125 years, through the organization of visits to the offices. present throughout the national territory, the illustration of projects and courses, the distribution of information material and gadgets, the demonstration of sports activities with the support of instructors and the use of vehicles available in the various structures.
This is the invitation of the President of the Italian Naval League, Admiral Donato Marzano: “ After two years of lockdown, the time has come to open, with the right attention, our structures present throughout Italy and above all to make known not only the many meritorious and public utility activities related to the sea that the Italian Naval League carries out thanks to its over 51,000 members in 260 sections and delegations (80 nautical bases, a park of over 14,000 boats), but above all the passion, the enthusiasm , the concreteness with which many projects are carried out ranging from the dissemination of maritime culture and traditions, to the promotion of seafaring sports, from the approach to the sea for all regardless of physical and mental disabilities, conditions of social discomfort, to the protection of our environment with many forms of pollution, social and solidarity boating “.
