The Toselli theater in Cuneo is now transformed into an artistic residence, perhaps for the first time in its long history. Until Saturday, Chiara Sicoli, artist, performer and author, will live in it who will stage the show «Anima_L “. Chiara Sicoli is originally from Cuneo, but her artistic activity, in particular with the Collettivo Zoè, an international circus group, often takes her far. Now, the project of a gestural narration of the female universe, which she immediately met – she says – the attention of the Councilor for Culture of the Municipality, Cristina Clerico, brings her back to her hometown.
«With Circo Zoè we started a collaboration with the Municipality in 2020 – recalls Chiara -. Last summer, under the awning set up in the River Park area, we performed shows and held courses as part of the ” Zoè in città ” project, then we were involved in the Mirabilia Festival. On that occasion we presented a fragment of ” Anima_L ”. From these collaborations the idea of an artistic residence was born ».
The Toselli will be transformed into a sort of ideal circus tent, through installations made with hemp ropes that converge towards the stage. It will become an immersive structure that is filled with electronic sounds, created in these days by Federico Dal Pozzo, a live electronic musician, with lices designed by Marco Alba, while Chiara will have the help of choreographer Valentina Taricco alongside, for the realization of the acrobatic pictures. that dialogue with the voice, the music and the scenography: an experience that crosses different languages, as is always that of circus art. The other protagonists will arrive on Friday: the Wild Flowers female choir led by Cecilia Fumanelli, a formation born in Brianza, specialized in the performance of pieces of the international popular tradition.
«“ Anima_L ”is a work in progress that I have already made at the Asioli theater in Correggio.
