Bang & Olufsen Revives Classic 90s Products with Beosystem 9000c Music System

Bang & Olufsen, the renowned luxury audio brand, has announced the release of direct replicas of classic products from the 90s with the new Beosystem 9000c music system. This new system features a fully restored and redesigned Beosound 9000 CD player, paired with the company’s modern Beolab 28 speakers, promising a “powerful listening experience”. However, the price tag for a pair of speakers alone costs more than $20,000.

Mads Kogsgaard Hansen, Head of Product Cycle and Portfolio Planning at Bang & Olufsen, expressed that the decision to bring back these classic products not only demonstrates their commitment to product longevity but also celebrates the resurgence of physical media in recent years.

Hansen stated, “Vinyl records and CDs have re-established themselves as something special, a place where people invest time and energy to connect with the music and artists they love.”

With the Beosound 9000 CD player, the focus is on showcasing disc art, as all six discs are visible under glass covers rather than being hidden inside the machine.

This isn’t the first time Bang & Olufsen has resurrected classic products from its hardware catalog. In 2020, the company restored 95 Beogram 4000 series turntables and recently found and restored 200 Beosound 9000 CD players from 1996.

Each piece of equipment undergoes a meticulous restoration process, including complete disassembly, inspection, cleaning, and necessary repairs by a team of skilled technicians, some of whom helped build the original products years ago.

The system also includes a Beoremote One for control, but users have the option to control the player through Beolab 28 speakers or a smartphone.

The Bang & Olufsen Beosystem 9000c will be available in select stores worldwide, with a price tag of 50,000 euros ($53,553.30) per unit, and production limited to 200 units. Fans of the brand and collectors of premium audio equipment will surely be eager to get their hands on this limited-edition release.
