YouTuber Discovers 25-Year-Old Secret Code in “Castlevania: Apocalypse”

In 1999, KONAMI Studio released “Castlevania: Legacy of Apocalypse” (commonly known as “Castlevania: Apocalypse”) and the director’s cut version of “Castlevania: Legacy of Apocalypse: Darkness.” These two games were groundbreaking for the “Castlevania” series, with “Castlevania: Apocalypse” being the first to introduce 3D gameplay.

In “Castlevania: Apocalypse Story,” players took on the role of the werewolf Cornell, whose main mission was to rescue his sister. The game featured multiple playable characters, but players had to clear the game twice to unlock them all, making it a challenging task for many.

However, last week, YouTuber JupiterClimb released a video revealing a long-lost secret code in “Castlevania: Apocalypse” that allowed players to unlock all characters without playing through the game twice. The code, which is more complex than the infamous “Konami Code” used in games like “Contra,” involves a series of specific key presses and button combinations.

The blogger also shared three “cheat codes” in the video, but they are only applicable to the European and Japanese versions of the game. These cheats provide players with various items, 99 gems, and maximum power for their weapons.

Fans of the “Castlevania” series have been buzzing about this discovery, with many eager to try out the secret code for themselves. It just goes to show that even after 25 years, there can still be hidden surprises waiting to be uncovered in classic video games.
