The Government extended the suspension of withholdings for all dairy products for one year.
The measure applies from July 1 of this year until June 30, 2025.
The measure to eliminate export duties on dairy products had been implemented by the then Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, in 2023.

Then, the Government of Javier Milei continued it and extended it from January to June of this year.
It is worth noting that previously dairy products were taxed with withholdings of 9% for powdered milk and 4.5% for cheeses, fluid milks, whey and butter.
“Predictability and greater competitiveness”
As indicated, this decision seeks to provide “predictability and greater competitiveness” to all links in the dairy chain and encourage the development of investments aimed at increasing milk production and improving processes, both at the level of primary and industrial production.
“This decision will generate greater insertion of national dairy products in the international market with added value and will increase foreign exchange earnings through exports,” they noted in the official statement.
It was also argued that it “strongly impacts the development of the economies of the regions” of the main milk-producing provinces.
