by admin

MILAN – The first ultra-fast charging station for electric cars in the center of Milan was born thanks to Volvo. The Porta Nuova area, which with its towers has become one of the symbols of the city, is enriched with a new high-tech architectural element which, thanks to 150 kW of power, allows electric vehicles to be recharged in a few tens of minutes. .

During the test period, which will last until November 30, the station will be usable only if subscribed with Plugsurfing and Duferco, subsequently it will also be made available by most of the other suppliers of electric recharges. The price of energy, guaranteed in this first phase both to Volvo customers and to other customers who access with the Plugsurfing application, is 35 euro cents per kilowatt hour, particularly competitive in the panorama of ultra-fast recharging.

The Milan Porta Nuova charging point is architecturally designed and built to be in tune with the natural elements that surround it. First of all, a plane tree that represents its direct link with the environment and is planted right inside the perimeter of the structure. The tree finds space in the profile of the canopy, which is itself a real hanging garden and will be covered with vegetation. With the inauguration of this first ultrafast charger, Volvo Italia launches its plan for the diffusion of recharging infrastructures throughout Italy carried out together with the dealerships, which will lead to the birth of 60 new ultra-fast recharges on throughout the national territory.

The service will be able to count on fifteen electric Volvo XC40 Recharges that can be used by reservation for periods of time from one hour to three days, with departure and delivery in the underground garages of the building complex. A shared car service intended for those who live or work in the real estate area, therefore, which paves the way for local zero-emission car-sharing fleets that could spread to many other realities.
