Accident on the A1 in Piacenza, two dead and six injured

The toll of the serious road accident that occurred in Piacenza on the A1 motorway this morning just before 8 am is two dead, one seriously injured and five others in less serious conditions. At kilometer 56, along the north lane, there were a car and at least two heavy vehicles collided, probably due to the fog.

Piacenza fire brigade and 118 vehicles were on site, together with traffic police patrols and Autostrade technical staff.
The accident had serious repercussions on traffic with the closure of that section and the diversion of the flow of cars.

Autostrade per l’Italia has announced the temporary closure of the section between the junction with the A21 and Basso Lodigiano towards Milan. At the event site, traffic currently circulates on two lanes and there is at least a seven kilometer queue towards Milan. For vehicles coming from Bologna and heading towards Milan we recommend taking the A1 towards Verona, then the A4 towards Milan.

The two victims of the serious road accident that occurred this morning in Piacenza along the A1 motorway at kilometer 56 on the north lane have been identified by the traffic police. It concerns a 33-year-old Dominican and a 21-year-old Italian who were together in a car, a Renault, which was hit by a heavy vehicle.
Meanwhile, the conditions of a third man who was urgently transported by 118 to Piacenza hospital remain very serious.

It was just before 10.30am reopened on the A1 Milan-Naples the stretch between the junction with the A21 and Basso Lodigiano towards Milan which had been closed due to a serious accident which occurred at kilometer 55, in the Piacenza area. At the site of the event, traffic currently circulates on three lanes and there is an eight-kilometer queue, decreasing, towards Milan.
