against dengue remediation and prevention

The Ministry of Health has issued a circular to all Regions urging them to enhance dengue surveillance efforts in Italy. The circular calls for increased clean-up initiatives, training for healthcare personnel, and public awareness campaigns to combat the spread of dengue fever.

The Ministry emphasized the importance of promptly identifying and monitoring cases of dengue throughout the country, particularly during the peak season for the tiger mosquito. This directive comes in response to the surge in dengue cases in the Americas and aims to prevent a similar outbreak in Italy.

In addition to surveillance of human cases, the Ministry is also calling for environmental remediation measures to reduce mosquito breeding grounds. Regions are urged to identify and eliminate potential sites for invasive mosquito species, such as Aedes aegypti, and implement control measures to prevent their entry and spread.

The circular highlights the need for coordinated efforts at the local level to combat the spread of dengue and protect public health. With the threat of dengue fever looming, the Ministry is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens across the country.
