10/05/2024 – And new path for taking charge of frail patients with chronic cardio-respiratory diseaseskicks off San Secondothanks to the integrated work and collaboration of various professionals from Local Health Authority and University Hospital Company.
The innovative treatment and rehabilitation service involves the initial activation of 4 beds dedicated to the San Secondo community hospital it’s a specialist outpatient course at the community house of Piazza Martiri della Libertà, for people who need cardiorespiratory reactivation-rehabilitation.
The patients will come from the hospitals of Parma, Vaio and Borgotaro, as well as by referral from outpatient pulmonology and cardiology specialists. The route is aimed at users resident in the province of Parma, with priority for residents in the district of Fidenza.
In addition to interventions by motor rehabilitationwill be proposed based on specific needs nutritional, educational and psychological support interventions.
“The objectives of the new service are the functional recovery of the fragile patient and the preparation of the family environment for his return home, so that hospital discharges are guaranteed in a context of continuity of care with the territory, for the best management of the chronic disease and improve the quality of life of those assisted – explains Massimo Fabiextraordinary commissioner of the Local Health Authority and general director of the University Hospital of Parma – This path is the result of the work of a multidisciplinary team, made up of professionals from the local health authority and the Maggiore hospital who have made their respective skills available to create a specialized and qualified service”.

The project will be presented on Tuesday 14 Mayin the former Stables room of the Rocca dei Rossiin San Secondo, in a public meeting.
