After weeks of decline followed by stability, for the first time there is a 1% increase, nationwide, in the percentage of hospital beds occupied by Covid patients. In fact, it reaches 3%, a very low level compared to the peaks of the past months but which reflects the increase in infections in recent days. This is what the monitoring of the National Agency for Regional Health Services, updated on 25 July, shows. The number of ICU beds occupied by Covid patients remains stable since early July, at 2%.

Sardinia and Sicily are the two regions that see the greatest growth the percentage of intensive care occupation by Covid patients, both reached 5% in a few days compared to a national average of 2%. While Calabria, Campania and Sicily, with 6%, 5% and 7% respectively, are the regions that have a higher percentage of beds in the ward occupied by Covid patients, compared to a national average of 3%. The monitoring of the National Agency for Regional Health Services highlights how hospitals in Southern Italy are seeing the percentages grow faster.
