Aifa: the Merck pill against Covid will arrive in Italy on January 4th

Merck’s anti-Covid pill (Merck Sharp & Dohme) will start being distributed in Italy from January 4th. This was announced by Aifa, the Italian drug agency, which last December 22 approved the use of this drug in emergency conditions. The antiviral is called Molnupiravir (Lagevrio the trade name) and, according to tests, prevents 30% of severe cases and hospitalizations if taken immediately after the infection.
