Alexa didn’t work in Italy and the rest of Europe for about two hours

by admin

Amazon’s virtual assistant was unable to respond to user requests in Italy and other European countries for about two hours, from about 8.30 to about 10.30 in the morning. Who has made a request and has been answered “There was a problem”therefore, it has no connection problems: it was a widespread malfunction, as reported by several users on Twitter and as the Downdetector site pointed out, where it is possible to continue to monitor the situation.

In England, for example, the first reports of Alexa problems came around 7 am.

Apparently the virtual assistant was regularly connected to the wi-fi network of the homes but was unable to perform its functions through voice commands. This would be demonstrated by the fact that, if desired, you could still use Alexa as a wireless speaker to listen to music: if you played a song on Spotify for example, and you chose to listen to it on an Echo Dot or an Echo Show, the operation was successful.

With an official tweet, in response to a French user who reported #alexadown on Twitter, the Amazon Help account apologized for the inconvenience and let it be known that the technicians were working to fix the problem.

Meanwhile, again on Twitter, the disservice has sparked the usual irony among users.
