AUSL Modena – Funds for the purchase of telemedicine tools from the charity regatta dedicated to Guglielmo Marconi

The District of Carpi received funds amounting to 4,500 euros, which will be used for the purchase of telemedicine tools. An area that is not new for the Carpi Lions: last April, in fact, 11 telemedicine kits for the remote monitoring of chronic patients were donated by the Alberto Pio Lions Club.

Yesterday the symbolic delivery of the check was attended by the Director of the Carpi District Stefania Ascari, Giulio Magi and Anna Ardizzoni representing the Lions who promoted the event together with the Guglielmo Marconi Foundation and the Circolo Nautico Cattolica, Anna Bulgarelli, President of Zone 8, and Cristina Ascari President of the Alberto Pio Lions Club of Carpi.

The devices that will be purchased thanks to the funds donated by the Lions will enrich the technological equipment of the Territorial Operations Centers (COT) and Community Nursing Points present in the Carpi District, and will allow constant remote monitoring of the main parameters of the chronic patients taken care of. In fact, telemedicine represents one of the most important tools in the activity of the Community Nurse, the new professional figure who acts as a point of reference for the territory, facilitating the taking on of care, the continuity of assistance and the collaboration between specialists, Doctors of general medicine and social and health services.

“I thank the Lions with heartfelt gratitude for the sensitivity and support they constantly show us – explains Stefania Ascari –, in particular this last donation is the result of the generosity of 45 clubs and friends who have chosen to support, among the three projects, our District, and this fills us with pride. The investment that the USL Company is making in telemedicine is important, but the contribution of the community is crucial to achieving all objectives”.
