AUSL Modena – The Mirandola emergency room is not in question, a fundamental facility for the management of emergencies in the area

With regard to the declarations of the Salviamo l’Ospedale della Bassa and La Nostra Mirandola ODV Committee published online, the following is specified:

The Modena Local Health Authority is constantly working to find professionals to be included in the emergency-urgency network and therefore also in the Mirandola Emergency Department, useful for progressively overcoming the temporary support offered by the medical services cooperative and for maintenance of the PS, a fundamental safeguard for the management of emergencies in the area, which is in no way under discussion. There have been several tenders carried out in recent months, even with different contractual methods, to increase attractiveness. Among them the publication of three specific freelance calls for the emergency-urgency sector with, to date, five requests received including a professional already in service at the PS since 4 February; Furthermore, competitive selection for permanent positions is scheduled for February 22nd. It should also be noted that it is already in place a Departmental support system for which, for some time, some professionals from other PSs have ensured the execution of shifts in Mirandola.

Regarding the construction site for the construction of emergency medicine and semi-intensive care, the works will be completed at the end of March, followed by the important phases of testing and the necessary authorizations. The USL Company has set up a working group that includes the Health Management, the Care Management and the clinical components (Directors and Coordinators of Medicine, Pneumology and Emergency Room), which is working on the definition of the new clinical-care paths for the benefit of patients, the drafting of clinical protocols and the construction of a training plan aimed at the professionals who will work in the two Operational Units. The Local Health Authority is also engaged in the recruitment of medical and nursing resources necessary for the activation of the two new hospitalization areas.
