Automotive, the Government was in Beijing to court Chinese manufacturers

“We think that a very open, frank, direct and constructive discussion should be developed with Stellantis so that it designs an industrial plan that aims to reaffirm its Italian roots”, said Adolfo Urso, minister of Made in Italy, at the end of the inauguration of the ‘AI4Industry’ Foundation for Artificial Intelligence in Turin. The minister then reiterated that the Government is working to ensure that one million cars a year can be produced in Italy and with this in mind he has also started talks with foreign and in particular Chinese car manufacturers.

“Italy is the country that has the widest gap in Europe between produced and registered cars. We must fill this gap. At the same time we also have an extraordinary component system which I think is the best in the world for the quality it expresses. it is an industrial ecosystem for anyone who wants to make cars in our country, obviously with an Italian component that can then truly boast the symbol of Made in Italy”, explained Urso, “It is a clear project that we have illustrated since the first meeting of the automotive table . A delegation from the ministry was in Beijing and met with several car manufacturers who have expressed their intention to invest in Europe.”
