The giant Volkswagen – has a turnover of 250 billion euros a year and has 12 brands from seven different European countries: for Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini and Porsche cars, for Ducati motorcycles and for commercial vehicles Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Scania AB and MAN – allegedly in talks with the Chinese company Huawei – another giant that has a turnover of 150 billion a year – for the acquisition of an autonomous driving business unit.

There are no official confirmations although it is certain that carmakers and tech companies are investing billions of dollars in autonomous driving, with the aim of taking the lead in what many see as the future of mobility. On the other hand, Herbert Diess himself, CEO of VW, said on Wednesday that he expects the auto industry to see widespread autonomous driving within 25 years and that the company is pursuing new partnerships to increase its self-sufficiency in the software sector.
