The Civil Protection of the Municipality of Milan shortly after 4 am informed citizens that the Seveso river had reached the alert threshold. For those who find themselves in a floodable area, the usual indications apply, such as protecting the rooms on street level, securing the car, being careful when crossing bridges and underpasses, and not stopping in the areas surrounding the riverbeds. and stay away from the banks.

So Seveso and Lambro are seeing their levels increase near Milan due to the arrival of the flood wave. For the Seveso the overflow channel is discharging a large part of the flood wave and for now we are not yet at the activation levels of the Milan basin. The Lambro instead reached 2 meters in Feltre (Parco Lambro) and therefore we alerted the communities again for the possible evacuation. Civil protection and MM in full activity since tonight.”

In the morning, ATM reported problems for tram lines 1, 9 and 33, due to a flooded interchange: the vehicles travel a few minutes late, longer waiting times at the stops.

An improvement in the weather with more sunshine is expected in Milan on Friday 3 May, while in the rest of the region there will still be rain in the Alpine and pre-Alpine sectors. It will get worse again in the evening.
