“The cooperatives” that enlist token doctors “are running out of time not only in Lombardy, where we have already sent them home, but in all the Regions, where they are preparing the same procedures that we did”.
The Welfare Councilor of the Lombardy Region Guido Bertolaso explained this when speaking about the ‘fight’ against token users during a press conference.
“If these token operators can no longer go anywhere, where do they go? This is another reason why we think we will be able to recover doctors and nurses – he continued -, who in recent years have not been protected and have sought different paths, compared to the teacher called National Health Service”. Bertolaso in fact explained that on Wednesday there was a meeting in Rome with the directors, with the Ministry of Health and University and the regional health councilors and the presidents of the Regions. “On the tokenists we presented the work we are doing” with the first call for anesthetists, emergency rooms and minor operations, “and in the other Regions they are preparing the same procedures”.
“At the end of the month we will have a second agreement which expires for Valle Olona, Gallarate and Busto Arsizio where relationships with token paediatricians will end – concluded Bertolaso - and there will be a new tender”.
