Long Covid is difficult to grasp. Because the disease has many different faces, a diagnosis has been difficult and requires a series of tests. “There is currently no specific biomarker,” complained Carmen Scheibebogen, who has been working on the long-term effects of viral infections at the Charité for many years, recently at a symposium in Berlin. “So there is no biomolecule that can be characteristically found in the blood or other body fluids of patients.”
