NEW HEADLIGHTS – It’s makeover time for the BMW series 4in its variants Coupé e Cabrio, which still aims to combine driving pleasure and sporty design in the middle class. Over time, the 4 Series has increasingly differentiated itself from its sister 3 Series, establishing itself as its own model rather than the two-door version of the sedan: this can be seen in the proportions and lines, but also in the characteristics of the front. Wider tracks and specific chassis tuning aim to enhance dynamic abilities. The stand out go new generation redesigned front LEDs, updated from an aesthetic and functional point of view. The rear ones are now available with Laserlight technology, standard on the M440i. The customers of the new BMW series 4 will be able to choose three new variations of circles 19-inch alloy and among ten exterior paints, including the new Cape York Green metallic and Fire Red metallic (in the pictures).

FEWER PHYSICAL BUTTONS – The BMW 4 Series Coupe e Cabrio they have also been updated inside, where we find the sports seats and the steering wheel latest generation two-spoke (three-spoke and flat-bottomed with the M Sport package). All new steering wheels have illuminated multifunction buttons and paddles for managing the automatic gearbox. The BMW iDrive with Quick Select, further reducing the number of physical controls inside the passenger compartment. The various functions – from temperature to ventilation intensity to seat and steering wheel heating – can now be adjusted with a touch on the BMW Curved Display or via voice command. The ambient lighting now also includes the outline of the central air vents and can be adjusted for color and brightness.

LIGHTWEIGHT ELECTRIFICATION – The engine range of BMW 4 Series Coupe e Cabrio includes TwinPower Turbo petrol and diesel units, some of which with 48V mild hybrid technology. The range opens with the 4 cylinders 2 liter petrol engine 184 e 245 CVrespectively of 420i and of 430i. Two liter 4 cylinder is also the diesel of 420dcapable of delivering 190 CV. The engines a 6 cylinders in line can be found under the bonnet of the M Performance versions of both model series, as well as in the new 430d xDrive Coupé and the 430d Convertible, whose diesel unit has an output of 286 hp. All the 6-cylinder in-line engines, but also the 4-cylinder diesel, are mild hybrids, with a 48 V starter generator that makes 11 HP of power instantly available as soon as you touch the accelerator.

6 CYLINDERS FOR M PERFORMANCE – The M Performance models from BMW series 4 they are available with 6-cylinder in-line petrol and diesel engines, all with a displacement of 3 litres. The petrol one from M440i genera 374 CV while the diesel one from M440d arrives at 340 CV. M Sport suspension with variable sport steering is part of the standard equipment of the top models, along with the eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, M Sport brakes and M Sport differential.

THE M’S ARE ALSO UPDATED – At the same time, the BMW M4 Coupe (in the photo above) is not M4 Cabrio, which benefit from updated inline 6-cylinder powertrains for more power. The M4 Competition goes from 510 to 530 HP, reachable at 6,250 rpm, with a maximum torque of 650 Nm from 2,750 and 5,730 rpm. The Coupé accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, while the Cabrio takes 0.2 seconds longer. Both reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
